My thoughts on what would happen:

1) Alberta votes to split

2) Ottawa says "non - we go to court.

3) The process in the courts takes a decade.

4) The supremes, top-loaded by Liberals, calls Alberta departing Unconstitutional

5) Alberta says "suck it!" and pulls the plug anyway

6) Ottawa, emboldened by a supreme court victory, enables the emergencies act.

7) Ottawa sends in the RCMP and Canada's Army (what's left of it )

8 ) They arrest the Alberta government and charge them with treason.

9) Ottawa puts in a caretaker government, suspending elections.

10) China offers military assistance

11) Ottawa accepts

12) Canada has made the transition to vassal state of China.

13) America, unhappy with the proximity of Chinese soldiers gets involved.
